About
Eco-Wood Projects is dedicated to maximizing the lifetime of wood. We believe passionately that timber is an invaluable resource and should be utilised to its fullest potential, thus contributing to a greener planet.
This enterprise was conceived from a long term passion for DIY and boat restoration. Over the last thirty years I have worked extensively with wood as a hobby, gaining knowledge and experience through various carpentry & joinery classes as well as a diploma in wood machining.
I have also been fortunate enough to spend time working with, and gaining advice from a seasoned shipwright on various boat projects.
Two years ago I bid farewell to the routine of corporate life and embraced my entrepreneurial spirit, launching my own business, initially selling premium hardwood offcuts and reclaimed Iroko (African Teak), a venture made possible through the strong relationships forged with suppliers over the years.
This progressed to offering bespoke joinery products for clients, one standout project was a shop window display in Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly. This display featured a handcrafted Iroko decking area with Iroko planks suspended using rope.
As the business has evolved, I realised that I wanted to concentrate on more eco-friendly products. This led me to work with reclaimed scaffolding boards, an abundant and sustainable source of recycled wood. I still offer a limited amount of hardwood offcuts which can be seen in our eBay Store.
