The Story Behind Every Table: Crafting with Reclaimed Timber

🧱 Every Table Has a Story

At Eco-Wood Projects, we believe furniture should do more than fill a space—it should tell a story. Each table, desk, or shelf we create begins with a piece of reclaimed timber that’s already lived a life. Whether it came from a scaffold board, an old barn, or a forgotten beam, that wood carries history in its grain.

🪵 Sourcing the Timber

We source our reclaimed wood locally, often from construction sites, salvage yards, or decommissioned buildings across the UK. These boards are full of character—nail holes, weathered textures, and unique grain patterns that new wood simply can’t replicate.

By choosing reclaimed timber, we reduce waste, preserve forests, and give new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded.

🛠️ The Crafting Process

Once the timber arrives at our workshop in Kent, the transformation begins.

Step 1: Inspection & Selection We inspect each board for structural integrity and aesthetic potential. Some pieces are full of knots and texture—perfect for rustic charm. Others are smoother, ideal for a more refined finish.

Step 2: Sanding & Shaping Using hand tools and sanding blocks, we smooth the surface while preserving its natural character. This step reveals the grain and prepares the wood for finishing.

Step 3: Custom Sizing Whether you need a 120cm desk or a 60cm bar top, we cut each piece to fit your space. No mass production—just made-to-order craftsmanship.

Step 4: Wax Finishing We offer four premium wax finishes—Dark Oak, Antique Pine, Medium Brown, and Jacobean. Each one enhances the wood’s natural beauty while protecting it for everyday use.

🌿 Sustainability in Action

Every piece we make is a small act of sustainability. By repurposing timber, we reduce demand for new lumber, lower our carbon footprint, and support circular design. It’s furniture with purpose—built to last and made with care.
